INSULATION & RETROFIT
Insulation is a natural starting point for any property. The main elements are walls and lofts (see below) but floors and rooves should also be considered.
WALLS
It's estimated that between 35-45% of heat within your property escapes through the walls so it is essential to insulate wherever possible.
CAVITY WALLS (generally seen in buildings from 1950s onwards) often have no pre-existing insulation (an "empty" cavity) or may have been partially filled or may have insulation which has failed.
SOLID WALLS (generally in buildings prior to 1950) do not have a cavity and so require a different solution - normally external or internal wall insulation.
As a qualified Retrofit Assessor I am able to inform you if your walls are effectively insulated and what improvements can be made for their thermal efficiency. Working with experienced professional installers I steer you towards the right solution for your property.
LOFTS
It is estimated that 25% of your house's heating escapes through the roof. Insulating your loft effectively is a relatively easy measure to undertake but an important one to retain heat within your house.
